2024 GATHERED SERIES THREE: Three puppeteers
Robert Bhola, Founder of 258Signs Productions, Theresa Upton, Founder of Adeline, and Juan Jaramillo, Founder of Dancing Hands have collaborated to produce a play Fernando and His Llama.
The play's Stage Designer/Manager Robert Bhola; Puppeteer and Seamstress Theresa Upton; and Director Juan Jaramillo came to Winnipeg to discuss their creative production, Fernando and his Llama during a panel and facilatated four puppet workshops for youth and adults. The participants learned about this arts genre and what it is like to handle ASL signing puppets.
Deaf Arts Manitoba set up a booth with two tables, one with art supples for public to create their own art creations. the other to display a video that demonstrates the value of our organization brings to the Deaf and arts communities to Manitoba. Also "DAM...we're good!" T-shirts, caps were for sale along with "Splish, Splat!" books.
The Panel and Workshops were well attended. The participants of all the workshops enjoyed themseves throughly playing with the puppets and signing ASL to the others on stage.
