  Building Big Bridges with a Little ASL-LSQ

  A series of short videos to help non-deaf dance teachers learn some dance related ASL or LSQ to allow them to better teach and interact with Deaf/Hard of Hearing dancers. The videos focus on terminology for the dance styles of Jazz, Contemporary and Hip Hop.

• New Horizons: Digital Opportunities for Deaf Artists

  A new opportunity for eight DHH artists to present their work digitally to a global audience.

• Updating Mission, Vision, Goals and Values Statements for MCSD

  The MCSD-DAM board met to update the organization's Mission, Vision, Goals and Values Statements.

• A New Rhythm: Teaching Beyond Sound

  A series of training videos for non-deaf dance teachers on how to teach Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) students.

• Deaf Dance Crew Choreography GETLIVE YouTube

  An informal, private dance class, taught by Stephanie Strugar of Difinity Dance.

• Youth Deaf Arts Camp

  A multi-disciplinary arts program (mime, videography, photography and painting) for up to 10 Deaf youths between ages of 12-17.

• Seeing My Voice

  Well-known artist Sheila Spence mentored six Deaf photographers from September 2015 to May 2016.

• Nuturing Deaf Arts Weekend Project

  The backstory: Nurturing Deaf Arts weekend for Canadian Deaf artists: Long Read: The why and a look at details how it all came together to make this event happen. It demonstrates MCSD-DAM's efforts to make sure our projects are meaningful for the Deaf Community. This is one example of what we do to make good things happen!

• Governance Training: Cultivate: Organizational Development

  MCSD needed to build up our core resources so that we could organize, schedule, administer, and fundraise in order take advantage of these opportunities.

• Brown Bag Lunch

  This lunchtime program ran for eight weeks and encouraged the learning of ASL and the sharing of Deaf culture.

• Chrysalis 2013: Transformation and Growth

  The first juried Deaf art show in Manitoba took place at Gallery Lacosse, 169 Lilac St., Winnipeg, MB, on October 25, 2013.

• Deaf Mime Project

  This project engaged students from the MSD and from MP’s special program for adult Deaf immigrant and refugee ASL students.

• PrairieView School of Photography (PVSP) Funding

  MCSD worked with the PrairieView School of Photography (PVSP) to develop a custom photography course for aspiring Deaf photographers.
