Youth Deaf Arts Camp
Youth Deaf Arts Camp was a multi-disciplinary arts program (mime, videography, photography and painting) for up to 10 Deaf youths between ages of 12-17. The camp occurred over four weekends in 2017. Each class was taught by local Deaf artists.
One of MCSD-DAM’s goals is to encourage Deaf youth to pursue the arts by providing them access to training earlier in life and inspiring them to pursue the arts as adults. The workshops took place in several different locations: Videography was at the Manitoba School for the Deaf (MSD); Photography was at Red River College (RRC); Mime was at the University of Winnipeg (UW); and Painting was at the Graffiti Gallery (GG).
